Caudete de las fuentes

Caudete de las Fuentes, true to its name, invites travellers along the Utiel-Requena D.O. Wine Route to explore various water-related sites, such as the Fuente Grande, Fuente Chica, and Fuente Encañete.

One of the significant discoveries in this municipality is the archaeological site of Los Villares, known in ancient times as Kelin. It holds vital settlements spanning from the Bronze Age in the 5th century B.C. to the Recent Iberian periods, ranging from the 2nd to 1st centuries B.C. This archaeological site spans the entire hill's surface, covering approximately 10 hectares. Among the remains, numerous grape seeds have been discovered, indicating a possible wine culture dating back to the 5th century B.C., potentially associated with the pagan cults of Dionysus or Bacchus. In addition, a large number of coins have been found, since the Iberian city of Kelin had its own mint (it issued ases and semis).

Additional attractions in the area include the neoclassical church of la Natividad de la Virgen, the Luis García Ejarque Museum Collection exhibiting substantial artefacts from the Iberian era and the Municipal Ethnological Collection.

During the festive period, noteworthy events include the Summer Festivities and the "Youth Week", attracting thousands of people for popular outdoor celebrations held in the Paseo de la Alameda in early August. As far as cultural activities are concerned, it is worth mentioning the Open Days that are held every year in this town, in autumn, on the archaeological site of Kelin. They include guided tours of the site and the museum collection, educational workshops and historical reconstructions, while visitors can taste Iberian-style menus offered by local restaurants.
