Under the Historic-Artistic Site of the Barrio de la Villa, a labyrinthine and intriguing set of caves lies beneath the surface. Throughout history, these caves have served various purposes, including housing, shelters, ossuaries, silos, and cellars. Within these caves, there are jars dated to the Middle Ages, evidence of Requena's ancestral vocation for the art of growing vines and making wine.
