Nine of the ten municipalities on the Wine Route are part of the tourist destination Tierra Bobal, namely: Camporrobles, Caudete de las Fuentes, Chera, Fuenterrobles, Requena, Sinarcas, Utiel, Venta del Moro and Villargordo del Cabriel.
A thousand-year wine culture dating back to the 7th century B.C., the largest concentration of forests in Valencia, with more than 90 thousand hectares, and one of the cleanest rivers in Europe, the Cabriel, are the roots of Tierra Bobal.
The two pillars of Tierra Bobal are wine and nature. Its landscape is mainly made up of a vast stretch of vineyards surrounded by pine forests. Hence its permanent message: Tierra Bobal, where the forest embraces the vineyard.
This is why wine tourism is one of the main products of Tierra Bobal, which is complemented by an extensive gastronomic offer, both sweet and savoury, and a rich cultural heritage.
Tierra Bobal has almost 40% of its territory protected; it has two Natural Parks: Chera-Sot de Chera and Hoces del Cabriel; four municipalities included within the Cabriel Valley Biosphere Reserve and other figures of environmental protection of the Natura 2000 Network (Special Protection Area [SPA] for Birds, Sites of Community Importance [SCI], Special Areas of Conservation [SAC], Micro-reserves of flora and fauna, Municipal Natural Sites, etc.). All of this makes it possible to enjoy a variety of active and nature tourism experiences.
These four tourism products have recently been joined by astro-tourism, as Tierra Bobal has been certified as a Starlight tourist destination thanks to the quality of its skies.
