Hoya de la Iglesia is a family company specialised in the production of goat's milk dairy products with great quality and flavour. Our cheeses and desserts are handmade from the daily milk of our goat herd, raised in a natural environment and fed with high-quality feed. This ensures fresh and natural milk, preserving all the inherent qualities when processed.
We are located in Los Pedrones; a natural area with a great winemaking tradition, good water resources and great beauty and contrasts.
Visiting us is more than just a journey to the origins of this ancestral food. It's a chance to delve into local traditions, explore the culture of the area's residents, and gain insights into the surrounding territory. Located in the heart of nature, our farm is where our goats thrive and grow strong, providing the finest products from the land for our Hoya de la Iglesia artisan cheeses.
At the Hoya de la Iglesia Cheese Factory, we invite you to partake in a workshop where you can craft fresh goat's milk cheese in person using traditional methods. Next, you will experience a guided tasting of our cheeses along with a selection of cheeses matured in our caves.
Two options:
- Workshop and guided tasting: from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Minimum 10 people for the activity and reservation 24 hours in advance).
- Guided tasting: from 12:15 to 13:00 p.m. (No minimum).
The experience will take place in one of our 3 caves. All of them maintain a constant temperature of between 12 and 15 degrees all year round, with a humidity of around 90%.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
· We recommend extra warm clothing due to the temperature of the caves.
· If you are fewer than 10 people, call the contact phone number and we will put you in a group.
· The visit is not recommended for children under 6 years old.
· For hygienic and sanitary reasons, animals are not allowed.
VISIT SCHEDULE
The duration of the workshop with tasting will be approximately an hour and a half, corresponding to 45 minutes for the cheese-making workshop and 45 minutes for the guided tasting.
We will start with the cheese-making process, in which we will explain in detail all the steps to follow in order to make a typical Valencian fresh cheese. With the knowledge acquired, the visitor will be able to make the product at home.
